Water Damage / Mold Assessments

VERTEX’s capabilities allow response to water damage/mold claims nationwide.  We provide a timely cost-effective approach to initial assessment, while identifying comprehensive solutions to reduce future exposure. 

VERTEX’s typical assessment includes:

  • Obtain background documentation vie Interview(s) with the property owner and/or their representatives, identification of sensitive receptors, and local research (as-builts, permitting, etc.).
  • Identification and delineation of the affected areas and building materials, including moisture mapping, intrusive investigation as necessary.
  • Measurements/interpretation of indoor air quality parameters: temperature, relative humidity, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide to identify potential contributing factors affecting mold growth.
  • Conduct independent bioaerosol sampling as necessary.
  • Identification and documentation of unrelated/pre-existing visible water damage and/or fungal impacts.
  • Inspection and description of potential peripheral causes that may include the HVAC system, building envelope/construction defects and drainage structures.
  • Determination of probable cause and origin of loss and provide recommendations to rectify.
  • Identification of potentially responsible parties, additional carriers, and loss timing.
  • Review technical interpretation of available existing bioaerosol data as necessary.
  • Expedited reporting of investigation findings with conclusions and recommendations in a Mold Assessment Report.
  • Preparation of Mold Remediation Protocols as necessary.

 

VERTEX provides hands-on assistance to define the most appropriate scope of work, solicit proposals from qualified abatement contractors and negotiate a fair and reasonable contract (savings).

VERTEX provides oversight of contractor(s) milestones to ensure that abatement proceeds in a timely matter, is in accordance with industry standard guidelines, and to ensure scope adheres to contract provisions.
