Vertex was retained by a general contractor's surety, who was named as a defendant in a construction defect matter involving multiple carriers, the developer, architect, general contractor, eight subcontractors and one supplier. Construction defects were related to masonry, structural concrete, EIFS, lightweight concrete on balconies and walkways, membrane roofing, windows and building envelope assemblies. Vertex managed repairs of certain defects during the warranty period on behalf of the surety. Vertex investigated the cause & origin of certain defects and successfully supported subrogation of certain claims on behalf of our client. Vertex provided support and expertise during litigation that ultimately resulted in a favorable settlement for our client.
