Vertex first began providing CM services to the surety in March of 2004 for a faltering subcontractor. During this period, the general contractor also defaulted and in January of 2005, Vertex was asked to step in as the new bonded completing contractor. Vertex was responsible for all remaining contract responsibilities including the completion and remediation of defective epoxy painting, remediation of the grout floor in the primary clarifiers, remediation of the plant underground RCP, installation of the remaining mechanical, electrical, and communication infrastructures, completion of the asphalt roads and retention basins, plant testing, training and startup.
