Vertex first began providing CM services to the
surety in March of 2004 for a faltering subcontractor. During this period, the
General Contractor also defaulted and in January of 2005, Vertex was asked to
step in as the new bonded Completion Contractor. Vertex was responsible for all
remaining contract responsibilities including the completion and remediation of
defective epoxy painting, remediation of the grout floor in the primary
clarifiers, remediation of the plant underground RCP, installation of the
remaining mechanical, electrical, and communication infrastructures, completion
of the asphalt roads and retention basins, plant testing, training and startup.

Modernization at three Water Pollution Control Plants. Vertex coordinated all
of the remaining contract work, completed all outstanding close out issues, and
worked with the New York Department of Environmental Protection to develop a
final punch list.

Performed cost to complete analysis and issued a
request for proposal to assist a major surety in the replacement of the bonded
General Contractor for the $3 million Chlorinated Facility Upgrade of the Mid
Valley Water Reclamation Plant for the Coachella Valley Water District Plant
#4. We also investigated the Owner's termination of the General Contractor for
default on their contract. Vertex also assisted the surety in the solicitation,
evaluation and selection of the replacement contractor.

building; a process building that includes three low pressure Reverse Osmosis
(RO) membrane skids and three nanofiltration (NF) membrane treatment skids; pre
and post chemical feed systems, micron filtration, high pressure pumping, and
motor control center; bulk chemical storage facilities with containment;
degasification and odor control scrubber system; chlorine contact chamber; 5 MG
prestressed concrete potable water ground storage reservoir; high service pump
building; sodium hypochlorite chemical feed building; submersible wastewater
pump stations; deep injection well booster pump station; and lime sludge
management system.
